Shelly Ann Therapy
​I'm Shelly Ann Charnock. I've always had an interest in supporting people through difficult times and over the past 20 years I've held a variety of roles from teaching through to safeguarding and now finally where my passion truly lies, counselling. I have counselled both children and adults throughout my career although my current focus is with adults only.
My Story
After gaining my Psychology degree I always knew that supporting and helping people was my calling in life. I took an introduction to counselling course and loved every moment of it. Unfortunately life had other plans for me and for a while my career path took a slightly alternative route into the world of teaching. I left teaching to become a child counsellor and since then I have been heavily involved in the safeguarding of young people. I have faced many challenges in life and, like a lot of people, when covid hit in 2020 I took the time to re-evaluate and decided that I wanted to expand my skills into adult counselling.

I hold a Degree in Integrative Psychotherapy and Counselling and am currently in the last year of studying my Masters in Psychotherapy and Counselling at Warwick University. I am registered with both the BACP and UKCP which means that I follow their ethical guidelines and training requirements to ensure my clients are provided with a safe and secure place to express their real feelings and explore what is happening without judgement.

I'm an integrative counsellor based in Groby, Leicester. Being an integrative counsellor means that I'm not restricted to following rules of one particular mode of therapy but instead capable of using bits of each of them to help support my clients in the best way possible. I aim to provide each client with a personalised counselling experience that is tailored to their individual circumstances. ​​
I offer both face-to-face and online counselling sessions and tailor my working hours to best suit my clients.
